Kids Art Gallery

The kids have been busy on their artwork this winter.  It is amazing to me how one day their creativity can blossom.  Owen used to not be interested in drawing anything and wanted mommy to draw everything, but suddenly has been drawing flatbed trucks and skyscrapers.  His painting has transformed from monochromatic to a variety of colors and is beginning to be very careful staying in the lines.  Eva is getting better at staying in the lines too!  She is obsessed with painting!  She knows what colors she wants to use and knows when a painting is complete.  She'll say, "all finished, new paper!"

EVA IS TWO! no way!

Eva turned two on February 1st.  She had a great little birthday party!  She got to choose between her two favorite characters for the cake, the Cat in the Hat and Pooh.  The Cat in the Hat won out.  The age of two has brought on clearer speech and a stronger will.  She knows what she wants and now she can tell us!  Eva's intelligence and creativity is really beginning to show.  She can count from 3 to 10, complete small puzzles and is fluent in German.  (well, maybe not the last one) She loves to paint, dance and sing songs.  Her favorite activities are doing stickers, pretending with her doll, and dressing up in outerwear.  See future art gallery post... We can't believe our little girl is two.  She has grown up so quickly!  At her two year checkup, she was 21 pounds and 33 inches tall.  Still a petite one!

Christmas 2014

The kids had a wonderful Christmas, three months ago!  Owen was very excited for Santa this year.  He wrote him a letter asking for Legos, an ambulance, play-doh, and puzzles. We decided Ian should ask for diapers since we already have every toy in the world, so Santa brought diapers and wipes.  Eva is into dolls, so Santa brought her a dollhouse and some books.  We loved seeing our family at Christmas, especially our out of town cousins from Wisconsin!  After Christmas morning, Owen and Dad got to work assembling Lego vehicles, a favorite activity around here, Eva worked on some of her puzzles and wore her new shoes around and Ian played on the floor :)
